Hi. I’m trying to program my BCD996P2 and am just scratching the surface on the scanner world. I’ve downloaded ProScan, was able to find the local system and upload to the scanner (the com port / usb port hurdle was a hoot 😅). I’m having difficulty picking up all the area’s frequency for fire and ems. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Not sure if I need to look for a setting in ProScan or the scanner, or both. Thanks in advance!!

Well...FIRST! Need to know your location and what sysstems/frequencies you have programmed in or want to listen to. Next when you say difficulty in picking up all the freq for fire and ems, do you mean very week or non existent signals which might be an antenna problem, radio setting or something else and not a programming setting.
The download of info from RR to the scanner is really pretty easy and if you set the service types to on, you should be good to go!

Check your service types???
The BCD996P2 is not a database scanner. There are no "service types".
I’m trying to get Harford County Maryland Fire, EMS and Police. I can only get the old 460Mhz to work
Harford is on the CMARC system and is simulcast so may have problems with the 996P2. Here is the link, has to be imported as a trunked system.

As Enforcer has noted, this is a simulcast system. That can be a problem for any scanners other than the SDS series scanners.

As hiegtx has stated, Harford and all of the surrounding counties use simulcast sites. Your scanner may or may not work depending upon your location. What is your city in Harford County? Please click on the red envelope to the right of your username at the top of the page.
