I have an Uniden Bearcat BCT15x. I have programed this scanner out of the box and it worked fine for almost a year. It started having problems with the alert going off with the state of Alabama, I live in Michigan so Alabama isn't going to work for me LOL. I couldn't get it to stop so I used Freescan to erase the scanner to start over like it was coming right out the box. I used my saved file that I used to program the scanner the first time, to re-program the scanner. It said everything worked and was ready to scan so I put it back on my desk turned it on and it scans but it doesn't pick up any channels at all. If I go to the weather bands, it picks them up and works fine but nothing else that I programed. I'm looking for some idea's and help!

Thanks,
David A.

What are you trying to listen to? If it's digital the BCT15x isn't going to decode it. If you are trying to listen to police or fire it looks like they are on the state-wide trunked system (MPSCS) and that's all digital. I see analog frequencies in the data base but I don't know if they are still being used.

Yeah you need to explain exactly which system/agency you are trying to monitor. Your scanner will only decode analog stuff. If you want to find out what you can monitor with that scanner, I would start by running custom band search mode in VHF and UHF. That scanner should work great for Airband, railroads and other analog stuff.

Thank-You, all I know is it used to scan and work great. I programmed it the first time out of the box, and then nothing I programmed worked except the weather LOL šŸ˜‚

If you're not using the BearTracker feature then change the State to Off in the systems. If you are using the BearTracker feature then you have to press the POL, HP keys until the PL, DT, HP, BT icons shows in the display after uploading if the option "Erase All Systems..." is on.
