Does your scanner communicate with Proscan at all or is it just the logging function that's broken.

If it doesn't communicate at all, did you add a Serial Port in the Parallels configuration pointing to the OSX USB serial device?

If your scanner was communicating, you should see what it's scanning in the black window. Since it's doesn't appear to be communicating, it won't log anything.

Did you setup the serial port in Parallels before starting Windows?
Have you tried clicking on Auto Detect in Proscan to see if it finds your scanner?
Have you set your scanner type to BCD436HP?

Make sure the scanner is not in Mass Storage mode. It sounds like it isn't since you mentioned that it's in Serial Port mode. Just making sure.
I don't know anything about Parallels but I heard you have to tell it to use USB and not serial port so I believe that's what mikewazowski mentioned in post #2.
If all else fails then power cycle the scanner or reinsert the USB cable and see what happens.

also power cycled the scanner and reinserted 100 times.

Great to see such a great response rate on here tho
Thanks everyone
