It was a bit convoluted to enter the key but I think I got it done right. Entered my key correctly I believe so, what, now just sit back and let the scanner load the appropriate frequencies when I enter a zip that has PV users?
Not always. Recently there have been a lot more people helping and beating me to it. (which is fine with me)
Make sure you have the latest database in your scanner first. PV systems were recently added to the weekly DL.

I was finally able to get the PROVOICE upgrade today. But when I use the tuning knob on the 536hp I dont remember what to do to get the second number and so on and so forth of the licence key to show. Would anybody jelp me please?

I always thought it was a shame Uniden could not have added feature entry keys and WiFi settings keys by using Sentinel and the computer keyboard. That would sure simplify things when you must use long WiFi keys!
The ProVoice key should never go away but I've lost my WiFi key more than once.
Never figured out what triggered the WiFi key loss either.
I think it could have happened when I inserted a new MicroSD card possibly but I've never been able to duplicate the problem.
Today, I swap cards as I update them and have not lost a WiFi key in ages so who knows.
I've also never figured out where the key is stored, in the dongle or in the radio or on the SD card.
I'd venture a guess that it's stored on the sd card, when you put a new card in you had to re-enter it.
Could have lost it before due to power loss creating read/write error on the card? Just a stab in the dark..
I think everything is saved on the sd card; except the OS firmware (and thus the feature keys/ESN) are saved on internal memory.

I think you may be correct as I think it only happened with new cards. Once the key was entered, I swap that cards when I make major changes to my favorites or when I update the master database and the key sticks. I do that sometimes several times per week and have not lost a key since.
I just ordered a 2nd 436HP so I guess I'll experiment with that radio when it gets here and before I set it all up.
edit: At least the ProVoice key is actually easy to enter. It appears to only allow selection of the HEX characters from 0 through F so going through the key selection choices only displays the HEX values and skips the alpha keys above F as well as the non numeric characters for ProVoice key entry. That was a smart move on Uniden's part.
One thing I noticed on the MyUniden My scanners screen is I'll get another key generated if I go in and change the place or date of purchase in the fields one can still edit even after you have purchased the extreme upgrade key for the HP1.
Not sure if that is still possible nor if the key changes on the x36HP line if you edit any of those fields today.
When I first noticed it with my HP-1, I thought I was going crazy as it was not the key I had on file from my original extreme upgrade purchase.
Somehow my HP-1 had lost its extreme upgrade option after I'd got into one of the factory test modes. Whatever test mode I got into, wiped out my extreme upgrade but I learned later that the original key as well as the new keys all worked to restore my extreme upgrade thankfully!
I hope that is still the case with these x36HP models if one looses their key somehow and the MyUniden site displays a different key.
Uniden must generate a key based on the radios ESN and Checksum as well as the date and place of purchase but all keys worked on my HP1 after I discovered this. I purposely played around with changing the date of purchase as well as the location and came up with at least 7 different keys before I gave up. They all worked.
As long as there is no test mode that changes the ESN or Sum values, any key displayed on their site should restore the paid mode settings in the radio.
I do wonder if anyone has found any undocumented test modes for the x36HP models but if so, I think I'll stay away from them as the loss of my extreme key for my HP1 did scare me until I found that any key generated restored the paid upgrade!
It was really pure accident that I found changing the location of purchase also changed the extreme upgrade key. Somehow when I initially registered the HP1, I'd used the store name for the city of purchase. When I noticed that and corrected it, is when I noticed my extreme upgrade key had also changed from what I'd filed away.

Look at the profile.cfg file. open with notepad. I bet it's in there!
I thought I'd tried that and the WiFi key was not in there. I was going to say maybe they use the SD cards serial number generated during a format but as often as people are reformatting these cards that are actually defective, a lot of new serial numbers would be generated. If this were the case, I'd think you would see a lot of posts about loosing WiFi keys.
Maybe SD cards have a unique serial number that does not change during a format and is not readable.
My guess is the key is stored in the radio but a key loss can be triggered by a change in hardware such as a new SD card maybe.
I don't think it is stored in the dongle as I recall posts where people have several dongles and the key remained after a dongle swap.
If it is in the profile.cfg file, maybe a hex editor would reveal it or even Notepad+++ if the key is stored as non ascii characters in what would look like white space to a normal ascii editor.
I wish it were stored in a file on the card as then you could backup a complex key using more of a hex editor program.

I just wanted to say that I got my PROVOICE upgrade activated via the Butel software that I have for my BCD536hp but am I supposed to do anything with my Sentinel software as far as activation goes?

If you have ProVoice systems already programmed in the radio; Then you only have to go listen in..
If you have not upgraded to the latest firmware, Then you need to use Sentinel to accomplish that first..
You may also need to install the new Sentinel version too.
