Yeah, I have heard that sound from PSEG frequencies in the past too, and it sounds a lot like what a NXDN emission would sound like.

PSE&G P25 900 MHz

As of 12 Noon, PSE&G P25 is on the air. Site 1 in Edison showing a Control Channel 938.95000. I will run unitrunker this evening, unless someone else wants to beat me to the punch. Voice has been strictly in Phase II mode so far, as observed.

Yes it is, for now. Was told by my source that further testing will be performed, and then a complete switch-over will occur later this year.

PSE&G P25 900 MHz

Two new sites were placed on the air yesterday. Sites 2 and 4, both showing a Control Channel of 936.92500. Site 2 showing Alternates of 936.3750, 936.4125, 936.7125. If anyone out there could check their local area to see if this CC is strong by them, it would help and then I can start to run them on Unitrunker by location. Site 2 showing 98% in the south Edison area.

Interesting observation on Sunday. I was driving along Bordentown Ave in Sayreville and easily noticed a new tower with whips at the top and as I got closer I noticed it was a PSEG location so someone in that area should be able to hear that one loud and clear if its already on the air.

PSEG is also building a new site in Bridgewater across from Bridgewater Commons so folks in and around Somerville/Bridgewater area will be able to hear it once it comes on line.

I had a chance to drive past the Sayreville and West Orange sites yesterday, and oddly enough, both are coming up as Site 1. So I'm thinking maybe this will be a "regional" simulcast system where the North/East sites are Site 1, maybe Site 2 is West, etc.? I saw that there are 20 tower locations listed with the FCC records, so this should be interesting to see how it's built out.

PSE&G P25 Site 6 On-Line

I see that PSE&G P25 has Site 6 activated as of today with a Control Channel of 936.8750, Peer Site off of the Site 1 Simulcast. Can some of our monitors plug this freq. in and see what area we can narrow this down to? I found Sites 2 & 4 recently and sent them into the database.

Testing on the new system is in the clear so far, but unknown if the regular talkgroups will be in the clear or secure mode. System is still being built-out and delayed a bit to ensure that coverage areas are sufficient.

Any idea when the system pseg will be completed

Im not 100% positive regarding the system in NJ - but the system in NY will also be 900mhz P25(which will allegedly be linked to the jersey system) and i have read in one of the articles about the system that it is estimated to be fully on the air in 2020

I would guesstimate that the sites in NJ will be completed first being that they already have the 900mhz infrastructure...

We're getting close to the initial stated timeframe of the system's ramp-up, and I'd like to ask those with UniTrunker to point your setups towards this system (if you can hear it) & check to see what you are seeing as affiliations. There is no voice traffic yet, but another admin here discovered they might be using the identical fleet map that the Type-II system is using (same TGID in hex gives the 2 different TGID's based on what system you are looking at, just like the NJSP/NJICS links).

He says he highly doubts that they are using SmartX site converters to control both systems from one core, as you cannot have duplicate site numbers using that equipment. They might be actually going the 'easy' route to covert the old assignments to the new ones (these are all presumption until we start hearing voice traffic):

Speaking of the 800mhz System these guys are on...I heard from a dispatcher at my college(WPUNJ) separate thread for that, but he said that PSE&G brought down their whole system a few weeks ago, it was only supposed to be “10 minutes” ended up being 7 hours. All from him. WPUNJ is currently on their system. Wonder if they’re having problems with the 800mhz system?

PSEG P25 in testing mode

Just noticed today the PSEG P25 system is using TG 299 for testing. "Teams" (1,2 etc) calling "Dispatch" and giving locations as 4 digit numbers (5313, 6101 etc) for radio checks. I am monitoring Site 001 Main Simulcast, as listed in the DB.
