I was in bowling green ky saturday this what i was trying to listen to http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=958 with my PSR-400 and PSR-500. ok on the 400 hundred while scanning it would not stop on a active freq but the 500 did. only way to listen to the 400 was to manually put it on one of the 3 freq and listen that way. i had the bank in open mode bank was set to Motorola . i programed using the win97 software . i know it will scan and pick up a Motorola Type II Smartnet as when in Goodlletsville TN http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=983 it picks this system up good while in scan mode. anyone have any ideas what i was doing wrong? i read that manual 2 times while my wife was shoppig trying to figure it out.

At first glance here and on the Bowling Green system, it looks like RR is missing a Control Channel, so you were missing one, which is why it would not pick up on scan, but you could hear fine on manual.

There is someone in KY forum that lives in the area and uses the system, so you may want to post the question there. But I don't think it's your scanner, I think database is missing one CC frequency. Best guess would 857.9625 MHz It also could have been a reception issue, but sounds more like RR doesn't have complete information, especially since you used win97
