I would like to be able to set the ATTenuator to Normal and Global, as it is now, but also to a semi-Global mode. Sometimes I need to have certain channels (or frequency bands like 151-154 MHz) attenuated due to paging interference in urban areas.

With the current settings, I must either attenuate everything at once (Global), which can limit my reception on other bands unnecessarily, or set and unset each individual channel/object as reception conditions change.

With a pseudo Global function, I could preset or set individual objects as attenuated, then flip their attenuation status as a group without affecting the rest of the channels in the radio.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea if I understand correctly. Have a setting that will activate the attenuation on certain frequencies you have "flagged" to use attenuation. Maybe call it something like "Selective ATT" or "Individual ATT".....

I have my Pro-197 (same scanner as the PSR-600) set to normal att function and turn on att on a per object basis. It uses up a lot of the scanners memory but I am using a 600 in the car and it gets over loaded a lot so I set up each object with two entries. One with att off and one with att on so when I get into a high RF area the scanner still works other wise I was either missing a lot of radio traffic or having to turn on and off the att (in global mode) depending on my location and it was a real pain. I have everything loaded into the scanner and I have 7% of the memory left. This is just something I decided to try to make the scanner workin the car. I am using a 0 gain 800MHz mag mount antenna and I was still having overload problems so we will see if this is a good fix. I have only been running it this way for a few days so I will update with more info soon.

Update: Well my fix below did work some what but not a perfect solution as it used up much of the memory and at time works great and others didn't. At times the scanner would lock on to the data channel with the ATT on when I was in a good area for the normal non-att data channel so my audio was broken because of weak reception so back to the drawing board.
