I just got my PSR-600 and loaded all the OPP freqs and talk groups using the radio reference software and haven't heard any traffic at all. I see that there is a signal, so thats not an issue. It is recieving other local trunking, so it is working. Any one have an idea's as too what I didn't do right?
Which tower are you monitoring? The reason why I ask is because when I used to drive thru Milton you were far enough away from Brittania in Mississauga and sometimes out of range of Ballinafad on the Halton/Wellington border to recieve fleetnet.
The stock antennas arent that group for the frequencies that Fleetnet uses, see if you are getting a good enough signal to decode.
Below are the talkgroups that affiliate (what you will hear) for the area towers:
You scanner I think handles patches well IIRC, I guess the Port Credit, Cambridge will cover the 401 right from roughly 6 HWY to Toronto and the Waterloo Region. Burlington 5 Charlie units and Niagara 5 Golf units are broadcasted on Mississauga Brittania.
B-fad will offer you Wllington 6 Tango units
You should also be able to listen to the Halton EMS, probably Peel North and South EMS talkgroups and Cambridge North 35488, maybe Hamilton City East on 35600 and Tac 4 on 35696.
Add in a few of the MOH's talkgroups like SW 34976, Region 2 (35008?) a few patch talkgroups on Halton (Tac 3 for Halton TAC 5 and 6 for Peel) and the MTO for Morriston area and Kitchener.
