i will miss the STAT feature, and i think it should have been included in the 800 esp since it was already on the 500/600. Was a good feature for multi tower smartzones (which a lot of listeners have).

many talkgroups are only on certain towers (not necessarly the first/strongest tower that the scanner finds).

lets hope stat is added in a future firmware update

side note : i personally always thought that ROAM should have been called STAT (one tower) and STAT should have been ROAM (since it check multiple towers) but thats just my opinion

GRE 500 family has ROAM, STAT /w/ or /wo/ scan all CC's in every pass and OFF.
PSR-800 is always ROAM.

Roam, meaning the radio checks the first site with an active control channel and begin tracking, only moving to the next one when the data signal is lost (within set threshold high/low limits). Stat as in stationary at one location, but checking for ALL possible active sites from your location within high/low threshold limits in each scan cycle.

Sure, create separate trunked systems and puch each site in a different system. That means duplicating talkgroups that are shared between both sites, or dedicating one site to scan the shared talkgroups.

The PSR-800 is smarter than you are - it doesnt allow you to do this. It knows you are creating a system you already have in and it doesn.t create it.

Indeed it is, as are you. When using the import function, you are correct that it won't let me create a separate system object with different sites in each.

But I can manually create such a system and use copy/paste for the talkgroups.

That is a significant limitation of the software. I hope we'll see some changes/enhancements to the EZScan Software.

Actually the designers `think' they are smarter than the users and they have programmed the 800 with their prejudices. One would expect that the `Advanced' tab would be there to allow the users who are actually most likely to be `advanced' users actual `advanced' functions a features. However... As can be readily seen the `hubris' and `corporitus' evident with *both* the 700 and 800 isn't going to allow such until, possibly, they see their `bottom line' affected despite all the really good features they have produced. And that isn't going to happen until more people wake up and realize that instead of being `blinded by science' or `baffled by BS'.

Come on GRE, get off your `duffs' and let us have a chance at seeing just what this radio can do, or not do, and the probability will most like be that it will be another `Super Radio' along the lines of another one of your products that a lot of which are still being used. Until then, I suspect, there are a large number of `Scannists' out there that are not yet even seriously considering purchasing an 800 until something improves.

A grumpy `Olde Fart's' 2¢ worth.

Now that Virginia STARS system (with 75+ sites statewide) is only allowing certain talkgroups on certain sites, this would be a must have feature for me!

GRE, please add this feature to the PSR800 in next firmware release.

I may be able to check out STARS this weekend. We may be traveling to Wilmington DE using US-17 to US-301. Then return on Eastern Shore US-13. However, if up route is smooth sailing I'll return using that route to save tunnel jamming issues in my cities. I have 12 Sites with Div 1, 5 and 7 plus 31VSP talkgroups.
