My PSR 800 is not functioning. Anyone have a lead on any current repair facilities or persons? Thought I saw someone that was offering repair but can't place it.

What exactly is it doing or not doing? The majority of problems are caused by a bad SD card or programming errors.

Won't scan have old data from their web site library. Want to load Prince William County & Fairfax County VA. Also want the software update for DMR. I thought their was someone out here, (on the internet), that was advertising software/factory updates. Wanted to get scanner in to manufacturer but GRE shutdown that option....

If you are referring to the GRE 800 hack to make it a 1080, forget it. You will end up bricking your radio. Only sending it to Whistler to upgrade the radio to a Legacy 800 was the safe way. Those days appear to be over with Whistler out of business. If you are alluding that you already tried the hack then you may have bricked your radio. You can still update the programming of frequencies and talkgroups and systems by manually entering through EZScan and uploading to radio. But if you bricked your radio you need to buy a legitimate used Legacy 800.

If you have the PSR-800 EZ Scan programming software, you can program the scanner manually using the information in the Radio Reference database.

The unofficial upgrade works fine if one follows simple instructions. I have successfully upgraded a PRO-18, PRO-668 and a PSR-800 to a WS-1080. I made a guide on how to do it and a number of people have followed the instructions successfully and now have an upgraded scanner. I only mention this here as an option if indeed Whistler has disappeared for good.

The Whistler website is back up. They are now owned by Goliad Products LLC. If you wait, the official upgrade may be available again.

No thanks. My upgraded scanners work fine and one doesn't know what this new mob will do with Whistlers IP.
thats exactly why i was trying to do it plus im on a tight budget as it is im on public housing too but yea i really hope i can get the .exe of grefwtool and the instructions how to do it all then i can report back on how it went too
i live in rockville md i could try n fix your scanner if wanna meet up at a starbucks or something i can bring my laptop and all the gre psr 800 files i have so far my email is coreybabcock2011@gmail.com i do come to manassas alot too to see my gf
