On my BCD436HP when a TDMA talk group is received instead of P25 displayed either a “PT0” or “PT1” is seen. What are the meanings of each of these displays?

During my experimenting with a P25 system, I noticed in the lower right corner of the scanner it displayed PT0 (that's PT Zero) where the P25, DAT, LNK, etc are shown. Does anyone know what this means? Thanks!

OK, I thought as much, similar to DMR time slots. Could both slots be used at the same time by 2 different talk groups?

Sure. Just like DMR. Both channels are comprised of digital packets that are all addressed to keep them seperate. Technically, they are not at the same exact time, but the packets are sent and get compiled so quickly we can’t discern any delays.
Finally, the determination of which slot a transmission gets is first come first served?
Well, no… it doesn't work like a trunked system, changing frequencies that are on a shared basis. A trunking computer looks for a free frequency and assigns it to all the radios in a talkgroup. A DMR time slot is assigned by programming. You determine which slot to use, not a computer. Once assigned, it stays on that time slot.
Thanks. I’m referring to how a trunking system determines which slot is granted to the next transmission by a talk group. I’m thinking it’s to whichever is available at that moment.
