After trying to upload a new codeplug to my scanner yesterday, it went into a bootloop, and I believe its completly bricked now. The scanner shows the first start up screen of Uniden Bearcat, then goes to the copyright page, then crashes.

Here's what I've tried:
- Let the scanner sit unplugged for hours and retried the following steps
- Reset the scanner at least 10 times by pressing (2)+(9)+(HOLD), and it displays "All memory clear please wait" - then goes back into bootloop
- Pressed (6)+(L/O) to get into force firmware mode, plugged in the cable (computer recognizes scanner), and reloaded the most recent firmware (with BC_VUP) also goes into a bootloop after updating
- More frowned upon, but unplugged the programming cable while it was updating the firmware (so when turned on it was just a blue screen), then reinstalled firmware, and then it goes into the same bootloop

Nothing has helped, and it still goes into a boot loop on power-up. Does anyone have any tricks up their sleeve? Seems like there are similar problems surrounding this scanner with bootlooping.

Thanks in advance!

Assuming that you followed the steps in this post?

Try the firmware update on a different computer, different USB cable?

Otherwise, your BCD996P2 might need a trip to Uniden Repair.
