Hey everyone. I'm happy to say I've got my old RS Pro set up and streaming for Pulaski County. My new Uniden BCD996P2 will be here Monday. I'll be getting it online shortly there after.

It's currently in my basement with a telescopic antenna. Eventually my plan is to order a mini PC that I can tuck behind the couch upstairs and run it from there. That will allow me to put a better antenna on it.

Thanks for everyone's help in figuring out what kind of scanner I would need to pull in the new digital system. I'm betting most of our local agencies will be moving over to it.

It sounds like you are well on your way to success!!

Is your Pulaski County feed listed at Broadcastify now?

It was pretty much instant in the broadcastify app. Too about an hour on the scanner radio app. I prefer it as it's got a lot more options.

The audio sounds good! Something is opening the squelch though with just static on one of the frequencies. Maybe turn up the squelch or lockout the offending frequency if some other noise source is causing it to open squelch.

Looks like I have another one cutting in. Still trying to get them all locked out. It's hard to identify them with the delay lol

It's a lot better but something is still breaking squelch on either a weak signal or some other type of interference. I can't tell which channel it is though as it's just loud white noise when it happens.

I also hear bits and pieces of 60 cycle hum but that's probably you jacking and unjacking the audio cable.
Maybe try monitoring the radio through its speaker for a while so you can catch the one that's producing the periodic open squelch.
Even better would be if you can hear the scanner live while it's also sending audio to the computer but I don't remember if the 2051 has a fixed audio output.

The best bet is to just listen to the radio live for some time and try and catch it! It can be tricky if you can't listen to the radio in real time.
The open squelch seems to have stopped since I started typing this so maybe you narrowed it down!!

There should also be a setting in your sound settings that lets you listen to the source audio from the scanner feed. Usually this is disabled and you must enable it.
I think you must have found the culprit since it's been clear now!
What frequency was the culprit out of curiosity?

Good job getting it all setup!

I thought I saw someone reply in one of your threads about another possible Skywarn frequency. Maybe out of the Springfield direction I think. Not sure if that one is in range but it may be a good one if so being as many of your storms come from that direction.
Of course Skywarn signals are used for general ham radio chatter when there's no severe weather so they would normally be locked out until they activate the Skywarn net.

I have all the skywarn stuff programmed in it's own bank so I can turn it on and off on days where the SPC shows a risk for our area.

Hey everyone, i got my BCD996P2 in today and we are up and running with it. Even have alpha tags on the stream now!!!! Also dealt with that annoying line hum. I cant wait to get this moved upstairs with a beefier antenna. So great! Supposed to have some weather tonight so I am hopeful the community will find it helpful.
