I live in Queen Creek and am trying to listen to the local police. I have the frequencies for TOPAZ in my scanner but have monitored for a few days with no activity. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

I see a lot of PD under TOPAZ is encrypted. Gilbert shows 2 talk groups in the clear for PD. Make sure you have Mesa Simulcast frequencies entered. The map shows it to have better area coverage for where you are. On the fringe with Thompson Peak. I live too far west to pick up TOPAZ.

I forgot to ask what scanner you are using. If SDS 100/200, make sure you enable the appropriate boxes under the service types tab in Sentinal.

Sorry but Queen Creek PD has been encrypted from the very beginning. All PD on Topaz has gone encrypted except for a couple of Gilbert PD channels that are still in the clear, but I wouldn't expect that to last too much longer.
