Yes depending on what you are trying to listen to, they will not help if you have a simulcast system.

Thanks, what about for a analog scanner?
The most common models of the Remtronix antennas are tailored toward 700/800MHz systems. They work OK for Uhf, but are not a good choice for Vhf-high frequencies. It's the frequency that matters for an antenna, not whether the system you are trying to hear is digital or analog.

As noted in your other thread, WS1040: - Help, your main problem is both simulcast, as well as talkgroups using P25 Phase II talkgroups, which your scanner cannot receive. A change of antenna is not going to be helpful, no matter which one you select.

i can hear the space station on a uniden 396T with a remtronix 800 antenna.
250 miles up and a couple of hundred land miles away.
from my house to the end of Cuba on the NW to SE flight.
about 680 land miles.
sure there are no buildings or trees in the way.
i also like the fact it is a antenna that will take the hit if you walk into something, it bends.
