Hey Everyone,
I have some questions for you all...
I am still learning how to program the Pro-96. I am using WIN96 by the way. Here are my questions:
1. Looking at the "Delaware Statewide EMS / Fire / Police Talkgroups," I see that there are "REGROUPS." WHAT are these?
2. When you program a frequency into the scanner, does it matter whether you set the TUNE MODE to DEFAULT, AM, FM, CT or DC? If I set this incorrectly, will it effect the reception?
3. When should I check the ATTENUATION box?
4. What is DSP AGC?
5. What are ATTENUATION / GLOBAL MODES? When do I need to use this?
6. What is the EXTENDED FREQUENCIES used for?
7. Should the MOT 3600 CC area always be checked as NORMAL?
8. Should the MOT 9600 CC area always be checked as NORMAL?
9. What is the FLEET MAP area for?
10. What is the ID DELAY area?
11. Should the TYPE AREA always be set as MOT? What is this setting for? Does this distinguish that a MOTOROLA systems is being used?
12. Is there a manual that will help me to better understand WIN96 and how to program this scanner?
13. If I put in ALL the SYSTEM FREQUENCIES for the county that I want to monitor, what will happen? Will there be interference? I am out in Hockessin, near the PA line and the coverage here is REALLY choppy at times. I am using the .ZIP FILE that "h8tdigitalradio" posted in the following forum posting: http://radioreference.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5139

I am in the process of modifying the file so that it bests meets my scanning needs. I notice that some of the SYSTEM FREQUENCIES are missing. Like I asked before, is there a reason for this? Would I have a better chance of monitoring if I put ALL the system frequencies in memory?
14. How many ID's can one actually put in this scanner (Pro-96)? I think it says that it can handle 1,000 or so. I am trying to calculate that... I am coming up w/ the possibility of programming (30) ID's in (9) banks. I come up w/ (270). Am I missing something?
15. THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS!
