I have a FL with 2 systems. I would like both systems to scan when the FL is active so I did not assign a QK to either system. The first system is conv. The second system is P25 and has several depts and sites that I would like to be able to enable/disable and I assigned QKs to them. I can't figure out how to select the QKs for the depts/sites from the keypad though. Anyone know how to do that? FL#..D# doesn't work. FL#.0.D# neither. QK status doesn't display correctly either.

You have to assign a system key before you can use department keys in that system.

You can use Dept QK without setting a QK for FL or System if you are currently in scan of that system when you push the dot key.

If the system are scanned too quick then push the System soft button and turn the scroll knob within 2 sec to select the correct system, then start to push the dot button twice within 2 sec followed by the department number.

If you push the System button and wait more than 2 sec you will then be in permament hold and have to push the system button again to be able to scroll between different systems within 2 sec.

If you have set QK 1 and 2 to the departments then their status will be displayed if you enter 0 or you could just enter 1 or 2 in the blind.

It's easier if you set both FL and System QKs as it then are irrelevant where in the scan cycle you are.

Selecting Quick Keys
I try not to use Department QKs. Remember, turning DQK on enables all depts/sites with that QK in all systems so you have to number them carefully. Too much remembering and finger work.
But if you do, I would try sites 1.2.3.etc. then departments 10,20,30,etc.

No, that is not how it works. It will only operate on one single system, the one you are currently scanning, if you leave out the System QK number and only use a dot for it.

From Marks easier to read manual: "Department/Site Quick Key in the Current System Press .no twice, the number key(s) assigned to the Department(s) or Site(s), then E/yes."

It's a lot more programming but if you want to make it real easy; program each site as it's own system. Instead of 1 system with 10 sites you would have 10 systems but need only SQKs.
You would have to duplicate the depts for each (new) system (easy enough in Sentinel-append system/delete all but 1 site for number of sites).
Keep DQKs (for IDs) the same for all sites (systems).
Now all you have are SQKs (for your old sites) then DQKs (for your depts) that work with all SQKs.
You should still have room for your conventional around that.

Ok. I misspoke. BTW I'm Mark.
See, even I can't remember how they work.
