does the r70 have the same problem that the r71 has with a memory battery? If so where is it and how do you change it?

I have an r70 and it has been great. About two months ago it would just go pop and not receive. The s meter was still lit, but the frequency lights would not come. After turning it off and then back on it would restart. Now it won't even do that. The s meter is on , but nothing else. When you turn on the power switch, you can hear it come on, but no frequency lights and no receiveing. Is this possible the memory battery or something bigger?

The R70 does not have the memory battery. This is why I sold my R71, and bought a R70. That, and I love the front speaker.
That solved one problem and left another one. Why my r70 is dead.
