I just put up a Radio Shack 120-70 scanner antenna on a 15 foot pole,
and I guess what I am trying ask is that on the roof of my I have a
Directv dish and about 5 or 6 feet down from there I have antenna
for my scanner however the antenna is kind of behind the dish at the
end of my home. My concern is would that cause my scanner antenna
to pick up interfence form the dish ?

Generally no, there is nothing that leaks out of the Directv dish that would interfere with common frequencies for scanning. However, the coax from the receiver to the dish could couple RF noise from the TV, nearby computer, etc and radiate it to your scanner antenna if it’s in very close proximity.

Not to dispute those comments because I'm sure that can happen, but I currently have some of my radio coax running alongside of my satellite cables and have no problems at all; but then again I only use high quality cable and have grounded my installation properly too.
