Is there a way I can ground the RS Desktop scanner for better reception?

Regardless of the one you mean - it's very important to state the precise model number as RS has many scanners- the short answer is no

You basically have 3 options (well the 4th is really the last straw) to improve your reception;
* Better antenna
* Better coax
* More height
* Amplifier - don't do this one until you have done the other 3. Amps can be problematic as they can add more noise and overload issues to a radio

What are you trying to scan? Motorola 3600, or P25 9600? Are you scanning a simulcast or single site? What are you currently using to scan now that is not working for you so good? Need a little more info? Thanks

Thank you to everyone who helped. I solved my problem by simply moving the scanner to a higher position. Thank you again.
