Just curious anyone remember these? What frequency did they use? I know it as an Antenna connector SO-239 I am thinking either the CB Band Maybe between 15 and 16 Ch 15 26.135 Ch 16 27.155 it skips 26.145 also between 3 and 4 there is 26.995. I know those might me reserved for RC cars. I am thinking the pager might use VHF if not in the CB band. And I know I cannot hear anything just wondering what frequency. I might try to grab one and play around with it with Antennas. I have seen restaurants use pagers when there are long waits. Could they use one of the MURS channels? Because I did hear a funny data sound on MURS channel 4.

If you knew someone with a frequency counter it would be easy to figure out...that is one item I don't remember Radio Shack had. I do remember they made a wireless intercom system for homes.

I used one of those systems back around 1999. They were in the CB band but I think they might have been in between channels. I found this looking at the 1998 RS catalog online with more info.

That system operated on 27.255 MHz.
LOL That is CB Channel 23. I was thinking between 15 27.135 and 16 27.155 so it would be 27.145 but I also know 27.145 is RC Cars between 3 26.985 and 4 27.005 there is 26.995. If I could get one I would try to find it on my scanner. Frequency counter would be easier but scanner will do

Ch.A 49.830
Ch.B 49.845
Ch.C 49.860
Ch.D 49.875
Ch.E 49.900
Also 27.255

Channel E is 49.8900 I never heard anything on 49.900 I even have a Maxon 49-HD 5 channel and E is 49.890. But I have heard other people say 49.900 was part of the 49 MHZ RC car and walkie talkie band

Yep, back in the day, CB channel 23 was shared with RC and other devices.

Back in the early '70s there were a lot of walkie-talkies on 27.125, made by several different companies. Mine were Midlands and had the code key, of course.;)

I lived next door to a radio station. I remember getting a Walkie Talkie for Christmas and it was unusable because I could hear the radio station. I took it with me to my Grandmothers and it worked just fine there. I am not sure if it was 27 Mhz or 49 Mhz I think it was 49 Mhz.

WOW I also found this 27.2550 Authorized in Part 95 of FCC rules. 25 watt power limit. Shared with Citizen's Band Radio service.

What if I had one 25 Whatt and a very good CB Base Antenna. I wonder how far it would reach.

25 watt carrier actually. A fully modulated signal would be at 100 watts. Very good indeed. I have this radio shack pager unit actually and connected it to a plain jane 1/4 wave ground plane antenna, unity gain, and it was able to set off the little beeper on my belt across town. It would be interesting to connect it to a friend of mine's Jo Gunn 25db flat beam. Back when 11/10 meters was still propagating great that thing got out amazing with my old radio shack Realistic CB i turned one of the POTs inside to get the power as high as it would go. 30 watts dead key 35 watts swing. I miss the old CBs with big dead key.
