mrel - The only mod that I know of is to restore 800 Mhz coverage on models made before 1995.
This was done back a few years ago when cell phones still used the analog mode - useless now.
What was done was to simply take a pair of side-cutters and cut one leg of the diode labeled: D13.
The instructions were like this: Remove Batteries, Antenna and knobs. Remove the 4 body screws.
Unsolder BNC connector, unscrew 4" Hex/Nuts posts holding upper board. Unplug upper board.
Remove 3 sheilded screws and lift the shield. CLIP DIODE D13. Reassemble the radio and test :))

I wouldn't actaully do this- but you asked about mods to the RS Pro-37 - this is the only one I knew of.

You should start lQQking for a new scanner - do some research and enjoy a new/modern scanner !!!

Thank for reply.
I know need a new scanner to receive APCO 25.
Big problem is these scanner that can do APCO 25 ,is so costly around $500.00.
Any chance price come down from $500.00 to around say around $200.00.

mrel, The new digital APCO-25 scanners do generaly list for $499, how ever the Radio Shack GRE/RS Pro-106 Digital handheld scanner is on sale for $399 unitl 3/13. Depending on what you wanted to monitor, you might be able to get by with an older / new much cheaper scanner - but check the facts.
I noticed that the long discontinued RS Pro-2096 (200-0496) just recently got marked down to only $29.97 and of course nobody in the San Antonio area region has any in stock - imagine that :))
The Pro-2096 is a base/mobile model and the RS Pro-96 (200-0526) is also disco'd and at $200.97
and the chance of finding one of these models is low buy hey you will never know unless you call your
local Radio Shack and have them do a "Product Availability" district AND region wide search for
these 2 SKU's : 200-0496 and 200-0526 ... so gQQd luck and I hope you find a GREat deal from RS :)
