hello is there anybody near Sturgis or Spearfish in this group..? i need help with replacing a display in the 2006 and this is a new display i have purchased from Ali-Express and i must be doing something wrong cuz when i put it in and got it soldered up and put back in and plugged into power the display wont even light light up.. it's dim as h*** not sure why..

well it was a very low brightness i could barely see it even if i had it in a decently bright room

Frank, are you talking about the LCD display or the backlight behind the display?

I've changed quite a few of the 2004, 2005 and 2006 backlight panels.

chris, just the backlight panel brightness is low.. even if i turn the switch on the front..

Did the backlight panel from Ali Express come with a new power supply? Those panels require a hi-voltage power supply. It could be that the power supply to the panel that is built in the scanner is defective.

In some cases, rather than repairing the power supply to the backlight panel, I just used the supply that came with the backlight panel.

I was trying to determine if the problem could be something else. Replace a part and still have the same problem usually points to something else.
