For a while today I've been picking up RCMP A4 (155.79) strong on 458.6625 PL 225.7. Sounds like a crosspatch. No idea why any of the listed licensees on this freq would be retransmitting the mounties, let alone have access to the freqs. Anyone else hearing it? (I got it fairly well between Bragg Creek and Cochrane, which is where I was when out today.)

Jay, that frequency is an LPU frequency that all sorts of low-end
users end up on (in my part of the country anyway). It would be
puzzling that the RCMP would choose that one as a link. ThoseUHF
HH radios you could buy at RadioShack at one time usually had this
channel (as well as 469.2625, a favourite "unlicensed" channel, the
CH 19 of UHF). It might me someone who doesn't exactly know what
they're doing, playing around...

It's not un-commonn for the RCMP radio tech's to use that frequency for testing a new repeater, mobile repeater, linking repeater.....
