Has anyone programmed a BCD996T (with APCO-P25 card) or BCD996XT with the new CSP rebanded freq's? I have downloaded it from RR, locked out a few sites\troops I don't want to listen to and uploaded it to both of these scanners, but still don't pick them up. Worked prior to reband, but now I get nothing. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Uniden BCD996T (firmware 3.02.00), Butel ARC-PRO V3.2.004, Proscan V4.4.7
Uniden BCD996XT, Butel ARC XT PRO V1.7.2

See my post 2 or 3 up. Although some of the sites had their frequencies updated for the rebanded set, a few did not get their rebanding flag set. So, any scanner software that automatically loads from RRDB will apply the incorrect band plan. Manually adjust the sites to all be rebanded and see how that works out.

UPDATE: I see that my submission has been "owned" now, so it will likely be fixed tonight.

CT state police aren't on a P25 system. Sites should all be Motorola Type II Custom and need to have the rebanding band plan entered.

Easiest way is make them control channel only option. And then take the control channel and subtract 15 mhz from the original freq. It took 5 seconds for me to program the whole thing....

Per your instructions I went ahead and checked the re-banding flag for all of the sites except ERV1 and ERV2. Let me know if you guys have any problems and I will make the appropriate changes.

If anybody has confirmed the frequencies for the Glastonbury site I will go ahead and add those to the database.

Glastonbury was a site that was discussed in a FCC document. Someone took a posting on the forum and submitted it without monitoring. The number 43 for Glastonbury refers to the physical Site number that is assigned to each location with CSP TRS equipment.
As of now, there are 17 sites that can be found via TRUNK88/UniTrunker (#'s 1-17). Site 17 has no location yet but is likely an Intellipeater somewhere in Site 5's area as that is the only Site that lists it as a neighbor. There is also a Site 18 that I have seen only once via TRUNK88 as a neighbor to ERV Site 13 at a UCONN game. I was not able to monitor the frequency listed by TRUNK88 as a CC.

OT : Comment about submissions

Which explains why there is so much in the RRDB w/o PL / DPL or NAC's

There should be No Rush to make submissions w/o Verification.

Chris has done So Much on the CTSP Rebanding. Who will be the next State in New England. RI ? or MA ?

Works!... sometimes

HI,

I spent a few days reviewing the 23 pages listed above, and finally got my 996T working (I think)...I took the same file that I used in the 996T and uploaded it to my 396T (after doing the firmware update)...

The 396T hears nothing... should it work?... I am using Freescan for up/downloading.

Given my uncertainty as to whether I actually got it right on the 996T, am I correct in assuming that if I (subscribe, then) download the current CSP file in csv format, that I can then upload using Freescan into the 996T and 396T and have 2 working scanners? It appears like the Uniden-described band plans for rebanding would be a part of the file from RR.

Do I have any idea of what I am talking about?

Thanks, Ed

Programming the rebanded CSP consists of several steps:
- Update the scanner if necessary
- change the bandplan to a rebanded bandplan
- change the old 866-869 MHz channels to 851-854 by subtracting 15 MHz

When using freescan, make sure you select MOT/Custom reband type ii.
You have to do this manually by clicking on "site type".

Would it be possible for someone to post a screen shot of a Freescan file for CTSP properly programmed? I can usually monitor them under certain conditions and would appreciate it, thanks.

I did a fair amount of listening on the way down last Thursday. Lousy weather kept the CSP and locals busy much of the afternoon. The rebanded set up worked well in my 996XT and I don't think I missed any voice traffic. I got caught up in that horrendous traffic jam on the Merritt and heard a lot of traffic related to the fatal in Stamford. For some reason I didn't have the Stamford trunk programmed in, probably because I thought it was encrypted, but only a few channels actually are. That's been corrected so I should be able to hear them on the way back.

the only one I know off the top of my head that needs to be confirmed is Farmington PD F2.
I heard Irene activity on 8TAC92 so those are up on the new freqs ini CT.

It is updated according to the FCC but haven't confirmed it by monitoring yet. I have no reason to think they have not changed over though. I don't know the coverage so I might be listening for a signal that isn't there.
