Maybe the other board member heard them testing? But it seems weird on a Sunday/fathers day. I didnt hear a peep out of the new freqs, every alarm went out over 851.3125 like normal. I try some other things tonight when im at work in new haven.

So if you have a 246T, what besides reprogramming a few frequencies do you have to do regarding this re-banding issue. This whole thing has me very confused.

for conventional, EDACS, and LTR (although there is no 800 LTR around here), you only need to reprogram the new frequencies. There is no firmware change needed etc.
For Motorola systems there will be additional steps involving reflashing the firmware. This is why the older scanners cannot be upgraded, they are not capable of flash upgrades to the firmware.

no idea, but since Motorola hasn't shipped a single Nextel purchased radio or done any flashing with the new software for the old radios, I wouldn't worry about it coming too soon.
Uniden will likely wait until the first few systems are up and running before posting the new firmware to ensure that it works

Nextel has shiiped Motorola radios both portables andd infastructure right here in CT. One of the systems that just came up online after rebanding was a nextel job.

Usually Nextel will pay for the equipment and labor involved, but does not actually order the equipment.

All we did was load up pallets of equipment that wouldn't work...rep comes by counts up the pieces which goes towards the $$$ needed. We give them the invoices of the equipment ordered which they cut a check for.

My info came from a letter to the FCC from Motorola stating that as of 7/6/06 they had "yet to ship a single replacement radio or undertake a single software modification".
http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/ecfs/retrieve.cgi?native_or_pdf=pdf&id_document=6518393323

Now a conventional system may have already received Nextel funded reprogramming that may be part of the rebanding process but that is different than the trunked systems that are the biggest issue. If it was only reprogramming, I think the whole country could be completed in 12 months instead of 48 or so.

Nextel announced in the beginning that they had a supply of used equipment that they would provide. The FCC rules do not require them to pay for new equipment to replace used equipment. The requirement is comparable.
