So now are all 800 frequencies going to be digital or will I still be able to hear Trumbull. I just bought an SC230 and haven't heard anything on their Channel 2 new or old frequency. I didn't even know they had one up until a few days ago. Like I said b4 I really don't need a T scanner. Only need it for Bpt and surounding towns.Thank you for the replies

digital use on 800 is not mandated so if your town is analog, they are not required to change. The rebanding for conventional systems are merely reprogramming and requires no new equipment. It doesn't mean they will not use it as an excuse to try to change, it just means they do not have to.

....and most of the federal grants require that you must purchase P25 capable equipment. As Chris says, you don't have to go, but if your buying the new stuff anyways, might as well switch over.

While not directly related to re-banding, Glastonbury was heard testing in the digital mode this past saturday.

Really? When will Glastonbury be fully switched to digital mode? What will their new frequencies be?

The application is still pending with the FCC, although new equipment has
been purchased.
I have been also told that the new antennas have been brought over to the
Rocky Hill site, but i cannot confirm this (yet).

I am assuming that the test was for the console at the pd to see
if was working.

I will start a new thread on this subject.

I was told a few days ago, that Worchester, Mass has re- banded their Edacs trunking system. (I know this is the Connecticut forum), but systems seem to be moving now.

Also, there still seems to be no movement in the Broadcast Aux Service for the Tv stations, probably because of the gift tax issue.

just an update

857.4125 is the new rafs 1 800 mhz channel. It has replaced 851.1625
854.9125 is the new rafs 2 800 mhz channel. It is to replace 852.9125, but it has not happened yet. I am waiting for word on that change.

Both RAFS channels are now in service and beginning next week departments wil be making the switch to the new RAFS 1 857.4125 Mhz and RAFS 2 854.9125 Mhz PL on both is 114.8. Berlin is my first followed by South Windsor, CCSU than West Hartford at this point. Also note that the old channels are still in service with the new channels on secondary repeaters until the switchover is complete, than the present repeaters will be redone with the new channels, noteworthy is no squelch tail on the new channels.
