Having the extra reliability means getting fixes in areas where one system might not work. And having the coordinates display onscreen can be useful even if the scanner doesn't need 5 meter precision.

You can better approximate the shape of an irregular (zig zag) shaped entity by using multiple rectangles. You are not limited to a single rectangle.

UPMan, thanks - I have some entities with 4-5 rectangles already, so I am well aware....
Mostly because of one dispatch being done for non-adjacent, multiple towns/cities.

While you are certainly 100% correct, it reaches a point where it just isn't worth the effort to get that detailed. Then again, it is just a matter of time/effort.

I received my external GPS unit and BCD436 and SDS100 cables today. Auto on/off and GPS is working on my BCD436HP. On my SDS100 I am receiving a "Low USB Bus Voltage" error. If i
I press the button on the SDS cable the GPS power light will come in, but then go back off as soon as released. If I hold the button down on the cable I can get a GOS connection without the voltage error. I have also tried plugging the GPS in to wall power, and then the cable into the SDS.

I usually keep Charge While On enabled, but seem to get the voltage error whether that is set to on or off.

Am I missing something here?

If you press the button on the SDS100 cable, it should lock in the down position to force the GPS to stay on. Try pressing it a little bit more firmly.

If the GPS is plugged into USB power, the auto-on/off will work without the button, but you need a heavy-duty USB cable for the GPS to avoid voltage errors, because the power is going through both cables.

On an unrelated note, I believe I've got the reconfiguration issues resolved, and should have my backlog of GPS orders caught up this weekend.

That being said, I found your guide sheet for the RYN25DI. Will that guide be the same for the new model?

Pretty much. The difference is inside the module and which satellites it uses to calculate a fix.
