Early this morning, the State of Oklahoma here at radioreference.com achived a status of having frequency content in every single county! yay!! :)

This is huge accomplishment for all of us here in Oklahoma. Lots of hard work has went into the way frequencies and other important information is presented to you at the county level.

Special honors goes to fast2okc. After being commissioned as a RRDB admin, he got right to work and the majority of the data in the Oklahoma pages is a direct result of his effort. He brought a good working knowledge of what the RF topology is like here in Oklahoma and deserves an acknowledgement. Well done fast! :)

No doubt fast2okc and your other RRDB admin for Oklahoma, Greenthumb, would like to join with me in acknowledging those of you took the time to make submissions, the time to offer corrections after those submissions were posted  , and the ongoing effort to keep the Oklahoma database current.

We could not have done our job without your help. We know who you are, and thank you. :)

I saved the best for the last. Bragg'n rights!! :)

I think that the Oklahoma pages kick butt compared to all of the other State pages on content, a consistant presentation, and accuracy.

Oklahoma ROCKS!!

I want to say thank you to everyone who has put their hard work in to the Oklahoma Database as well as the whole web page. To me this was like a dream come true through years of the evoulution of the internet. It's like this is a big radio club and we are all in it together and share and converse about our hobby without ever leaving our homes. Thanks to the best web master Blanton and Fast2OKC, Greenthumb, and everyone else who has worked hard to make the Oklahoma database what it is and will be. It seems like there is a lot of people in Oklahoma who have scanners and love the scanning hobby and that is great. Thanks again everyone for the hard work and dedication.

A belated "Thank You" for the recognition. I've been "On the Road" and kinda out of the loop for a few days.

As with any club or organization, this is a group effort and not the work of one or two persons. Special thanks to Pete, Brandon, Mark, scanner_ant, GlacierClipper, stormchaser203, okla-lawman, and.... even crayon

I started by trying to get at least basic information in each of Oklahoma's 77 counties. It took longer than I thought it would (imagine that). There is still much to be done, filling in many blank spots. Experience has taught me that a frequency database is never finished, just momentarily up to date.

Please let us know what you are hearing out there.

FAST 2

My goal is to have the database 75% up to date 1 year after delivery to the users. We rolled out to the public near the beginning of Feb 2004 if I recall, and I'd say we've made significant progress.

There are always walls to be broken down (i.e. hoarders of data, closed lists, people that refuse to share etc) - however we are making progress, and the database admins and contributors can take the credit for how successful this resource has become.

Fast2okc! Thank you for the kind words! I hope you had a nice time while out on the road! We all need to take a break and relax from time to time.

I still want to find out where that guy is from that is heard on Talkgroup 12336 on the Tulsa Trunked System! Nearly 4-5 times a week he is heard saying "Testing Astro Consel 1, 2, 3!" Hope it passes the test soon!

I remember when RadioReference was the South???! That was a few nights ago! Since those days, we have listened alot, heard alot, read alot, typed alot, posted alot and seeing the RadioReference site at it's finest and it keeps getting better!

The Oklahoma Forum is the place to be!

Another thing about the Oklahoma group here, we have the second most active state forum discussion! Looking at the numbers, only the Texas forum has more activity. Of course, us Okies know how bad the signal to noise ratio must be on that forum! (Just kidding ya a bit, Lindsay!)

So keep up the good work, people, keep the discussions going, and the frequencies coming!

Proud to be an Okie!

I wish I had the same results in Indiana  Seems to be a lack of info being submitted as almost half of the counties have nothing :? I have even pleaded to my yahoo group to submit info, but so far not much!

:p Are you guys finished with your bragging  :?: Great work, I know the BS blows up from Texas but it blows across Oklahoma and into Kansas. I recall the smell during southerly winds on the wheat farm of my growing up days in central Kansas.

I'm with Scanner freak, we in Virginia still have a few gray counties and small cities. I don't know who handles the input for our state, but he or she is prompt with keeping the data listing upgraded. I submitted new data this am and its already listed this evening. So let me brag for that quick effort. :D

I might add that the whole RR team appears to be working very well. Lindsay's dream of a few short years ago is really working well.

Keep it up, and congrats Oklahoma.

Oops, I goofed! Just noticed that Maryland has a higher count than us, so we're in third place, not second. My mistake.
