reformat scanners

anyone on here reformat scanners? I got a pro 96 still works but dont pick up much anymore and i dont know anything about it.

The first question to ask is what are you trying to hear?

Can you put in your local weather frequency, and if so, can you hear it? If so, the scanner is likely working.

it all works but used to nonstop pick up police but not too much anymore so i just assume it needs redone

You still didn't say what you are trying to hear; and using a cable and software is probably the easiest way to 'reformat' the scanner. The article I gave you talks about this .....Mike

ok i'll hit cntrl,alt,del then format it with my task manager! it'll fix it

OK let's get off of DOS (Dumb Operating System) and get back to the question at hand - if you REALLY want to wipe the PRO-96, the procedure is outlined in the PRO-96 FAQ, a link to which is in the article I gave earlier.
