Anyone else hearing the KC-135's and jets refueling over Lake Superior? I get some tfc once in awhile but last night around 8PM they flew by with 2-3 jets chasing behind. Is most of the F-16's back at Duluth ANG Base?

I usually pick them up but I'm going to get a yagi antenna w/ a rotor so I can get better reception. When the second war in Iraq started I heard the B-1-B's flying over head from S. Dakota...Ran outside and it was pretty cool to watch them. About 8 of them in formation followed by a dozen fighters and a couple AWAC's...;)

I've been hearing some of the F-16s doing something with pods (I think they are some sort of targeting pod) out over Lake Superior on 138.15. I never hear any call signs just talk between planes usually later in the nite. The nites they are flying minneapolis control tells everyone that the military air space is active and to stay away.

One of our sons worked on the B1Bs at Grand Forks and then at Ellsworth. I got to see one up close and personal and it was impressive.

Last time I went out west we went by Ellsworth on I90 and right when we were going buy the B1's were landing. They flew right over the car. That was really cool.

Where were you when you saw the B1's?

I was standing in my front yard! ;) I'm up 1,800 feet so I can see aircraft coming from a good distance away. I'll have to program 138.15 hoofy if I don't have it entered already.

When K.I. Sawyer was up and running the B-52's always came in low here on their way to land. Once my girlfriend and I were driving East on US-2 near Watersmeet when a shadow went over the car. It was a B-52!

During the hydro plane races back in the mid 90's I was stationed down in Detroit at the CG station but a B-52 was doing a fly over for the start of race day...A couple days before the start we would all get together to set safety zones and stuff on the river. The B-52 flew over us WAY under 1,000 foot, prolly close to 500 feet and buzzed the reniscience (SP?) center, then it flew over Windsor. The pilot got reprimanded but IT WAS COOL! HA! If he lost power he would of taken out the entire downtown Detroit!

I heard 'Huntress' and other unidentified planes doing refueling about noon today. On 318.15. Sounded like they were over Lake Superior at the time.

Anyone else hear anything?

What frequencies do you have programed for up there? I'm curious because it seems everywhere you look has listings for different frequencies for pretty much the same stuff. Just curious what you have that is active.
