NP as mciupa says we have wandered off topic.

Has anyone heard of new freqs being added for the new system or are they going to take some of the current and convert them over and do a migration that way?

Far as I understand it they are using the same freqs. And yes I did have a digital scanner listed but removed it as listed as I no longer had it.

Public update:

http://www.wrps.on.ca/sites/default/files/PSB Open - June 07 17_2.pdf

"Delays have pushed this into the fourth quarter of 2018. There are significant risks now being faced with the current radio system that is out of support. Many critical components are not available any longer and the system is experiencing aging issues. Moving off of this
system as quickly as possible is the goal of public safety users."

I hate all these speculations, one has to remember there is a new council coming in December, also the current regional chair did not seek re-election so a new regional chair is coming in too. Who knows what this new council will/can do? Time will only tell.

^^^ Exactly what he said. We know the police and higher ups will want most likely everything encrypted, but until it hits the streets it's only speculation, no matter who you've heard it from. Same thing with the new Fleetnet. Enjoy it now while you can, worry about the future when it gets here.

Encryption

Since the new incoming chairwoman has told me in person that all
comms will be encrypted, I think you can take that to the bank. It
is time that all comms are enrypted since there is alot of stuff
happening that wouldn't be if they were encrypted. Get a life and
a new hobby!

Obviously, this thread has run it's course and until the new system comes on line, is there any reason to continue the discussion?
