RENIR - Ottawa

I just programmed the Ottawa site for RENIR. I am wondering if there is any thing that will be good to listen to on that system. I know that Public Works is in the clear, but not sure if there anything else.

I am currently scanning, but not hearing any voices. Is there a reason to this? I know some TG ID are in the clea.

Please confirm if I am doing this right.

Almost all services are encrypted on RENIR. There are unencrypted interop TG's yes, but I have yet to hear a bleep on these. I may be wrong but, I think the interop concept is too new for ambulances / police / road maintenance to hear them on these TG's.

All the TG of Sécurité Civile are unencrypted and may become active during intense weather events. I heard them in the past.

Personally, I keep my local / regional RENIR towers programmed and am scanning these interop and Sécurité civile talkgroups, just in case.

Ok, thank you. So what TG ID should I create in Groups if I want to make groups for tg ID? I'm thinking the "in the clear" tg ID are really quiet.
