I have been doing a little research and gather the OEM antenna is not the optimum choice for the PRO-95. Can you guys recommend a replacement antenna for my PRO-95?

Thanks!

The Radio Shack 800Mz and the GRE 800 antennas are 2 great performing antennas.

Thanks Dwayne....I'll check the local shack and see if they stock either one. Appreciate it!

Dwayne,

I noticed that these antennas are geared for the 800 Mhz range. I don't have anything in my primary listening area in this range. Will this still help my reception.

I find them to be good all around performers but if you don't mind a longer antenna (15") then the Diamond RH77CA is and excellent performer.

How much $ was the GRE after shipping? I use the RS one, and it is better than the stock antenna. Do you think the GRE is better than the RS one?

Jerry

Shipping is only $5. I do have better luck with the GRE monitoring the Ohio MARCS system. I can also pick up my local Type II system from about 45 miles away using the GRE.

How would you rate this Diamond to the Watson 881. If you don't own a watson have you heard of any review of the two.

I have used the Diamond RH77CA for over a year. Used it downtown Washington, DC, subran Maryland, and now in South Carolina. Love the antenna. For "all around" it is really hard to beat. Does a creditable job across the bands. Superb in the 150 and 450 MHZ bands and very good in the 800MHZ band. Even works in the CB and aircraft bands. For 800 MHZ the dedicated 800 antennas will out perform the Diamond. However, not by a whole lot.

One other antenna to consider is the RS adjustable antenna. That thing works pretty good.

Recommend the Diamond RH77CA for an all around antenna even though it is very LONG.
