I have been trying to figure out how to get Ohio Department of Transportation for Richland County. I currently have Richland County ODOT and then have the sites of Shelby(Plymouth) and Steam Corners. I think these will cover what I'm looking for, but not 100% for sure. On Broadcastify the talk group (53286) keeps showing two frequencies of 771.4312 and 770.58124, but this can only cover the southern end of the county, thus the reason why I added Shelby(Plymouth). I there a way that I can verify this information to make sure that I get what I'm looking for?

Thanks,

Ken

Looks like there are 5 sites in Richland Co. You should be able to pick up ODOT on any of them.
How long have you tried to hear them? Short answer is wait till it snows and put scanner on Search

I put in two sites. Again looking at broadcastify it has been coming in on the above two frequencies. I add shelby(Plymouth) to cover the northern end. I have tried to put the scanner on hold and then miss things. The person that runs the Richland County scanner feeds and he has it perfect.

You have to remember that the Calls platform will pick one of the reliable nodes for each TG. Even if there are two nodes on each of the 3 sites, only one will be "reported" and the frequency will be noted, but it likely is still showing up on the other sites as well.

What scanner are you programing? If it's a Uniden from the past ten years, make sure you have the Public Works tag enabled in order to listen to those. You know, you can enable/disable things like Law Dispatch, Fire Tac, Federal, Aircraft, Public Works and so on. You'll want to make sure Public Works monitoring is enabled under the Service Types section.

The ODOT talkgroup(s) you’re trying to monitor may not be active on the sites you’re scanning. Program all of the towers you can hear in your immediate area; this will increase your chances of hearing what you want.

Any sites listed as being in Richland County, as well as any in adjacent counties close to your home (such as Steam Corners).
