Yay!! I have a Pro-164 on the way now!!! I can't wait. Now I just hope I will be able to program it. Does anyone know the level of difficulty for a beginner to program a Pro-164?

Just don't have RS program it for you! If you get the 30 day trial of Win97, I'll send you a file of what you want in the 10 banks. Make sure that you get the USB programming cable--part# 20-047. Manually programming the scanner is easy. Download the Pro-97 manual that is in the Wiki here on RR. It is sooo much easier to understand. Look in the Wiki under Analog scanners and Pro-97.

MSIMP09 - Could you share where you ordered your scanner and the $$$. Also, does it handle digital?
thx.

I found it on Ebay 134.00 shipped , so it was a little cheaper than Radio Shack $199.00 and I guess it isnt Digital...so hopefully we wont need digital around here for a while.

OK, can someone update the RR database so all of us can get our scanners re-programmed? I found the new frequencies in the FCC database but have no idea which one(s). Here are the new freqs from the FCC:

WPKP801

851.4875
851.9125
852.6500
853.5750
866.4875
866.9125
867.6500
868.5750

Rockdale county feed

Thanks! We had all but three. Still can't receive good reception; guess we live too far although sometimes we can hear better than other times. I hope someone will soon volunteer to provide a feed for Rockdale! :)

I apologize for not finishing the sentence in my previous message. I listed the newly licensed frequencies for Rockdale County's digital TRS (rebanded) but failed to say I don't know which of the 8 frequencies are the control channel(s). Can anyone provide us the answer?

The control channels we have programmed in are 856.1125c and 857.5620c but we can't seem to hear much today. Maybe the control channel freg. Changed.

Lawville Citizen:

You're absolutely right - those control channels don't work and will not work because Rockdale is no longer licensed to operate on those frequencies by the FCC. Having said that, the new frequencies are shown above and what we need to determine is which are the control channel(s). If somebody lives close enough to Rockdale, if you can monitor these frequencies and listen for one or more for the sound of the data controller (BZZZZZ).

The Rockdale County feed is now online. The current control channel is 856.1125. My location is in northern Walton County so the received signal isn't the best but it's better than nothing. Of the two tower sites in Rockdale, I receive one much better than the other.

It's currently scanning the talkgroups listed in the RR database. If there are any missing ones please let me know. The only ones I'm skipping are:

Sheriff: 304 - Warrents, 336 - Jail, 368 - Jail Tactical
EMS: 1104 - EMS Tactical 3 (Hospital Call Channel)

Also, if anyone closer to the transmitters can take over this feed please contact me .

OK, can someone update the RR database so all of us can get our scanners re-programmed? I found the new frequencies in the FCC database but have no idea which one(s). Here are the new freqs from the FCC:

WPKP801

851.4875
851.9125
852.6500
853.5750
866.4875
866.9125
867.6500
868.5750

You can disregard the last 4 (86x MHz) frequencies listed above. They are the old frequencies for this license (WPKP801). The first 4 (85x MHz) are the new rebanded frequencies that are 15 MHz lower than the originals. They were added with a license modification on 6/18/09. As of 9/24/09 there is another modification for "delete" pending on the license for the 86x MHz frequencies.

The WNPP414 license frequencies are still valid as well:

852.4125
852.7375
853.4375
853.7625
854.1625
855.5375
856.1125
856.5375
857.5625

Can not receive Rockdale Sheriffs

I can receive the City of Conyers, Rockdale fire but can't get Rockdale Sheriffs any more. Looking at the blog I see I am not the only one. But don't see what the problem is or what the fix is. I am somewhat new to this and not really versed on the scanners, but learning. Can anyone tell me what I should do. Have a RS Pro-528. Do I need to get another scanner now and if so which one (s)? Thanks for any help.

According to the RR wiki for the PRO-528, it's doesn't support rebanded systems. Two of Rockdale's new rebanded frequencies can't be followed on it (852.6500 and 853.5750). These two seem to be the most active frequences on their system. You can scan them conventionally and catch most of what is going on, especially on nights and weekends.

From what I've read, if a rebanded system contains any 851.xxx0, 852.xxx0 or 853.xxx0 frequencies (where the 4th decimal place is a zero) then a non-reband supported scanner won't follow them. On my PRO-95, when trying to scan Rockdale and talkgroup 16 for the SO comes up, it just flashes and tries to switch to an 863 MHz frequency that isn't being used. Even my Uniden 396T won't scan it unless I upgrade my firmware. I'm using a Radio Shack PRO-160 to scan it now as it came reband-ready. I just programmed in the custom band plan.

It's back up now but I don't know what happened. I'm not at the feed's location right now. RR may have had a server issue as all 4 of my feeds dropped out and they orignate from two different locations. And 2 of those feeds never showed offline but I couldn't connect to them. Hopefully they'll stay up.
