I have always used Don Starr's WIN programs, if you get a Pro-106 then you would use WIN500.

I have heard good things about PSRedit500 also. Either way, both programs offer a 30 day trial so you can see which you like better.

Can't beat Win500. The newest version even includes the new analog TT'ing scanners: the PSR-310/410. Next would be PsrEdit500.

BC396XT Help Scanning Rockdale County

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the place to ask this question, but here goes. I am having problems scanning Rockdale County. I have the BC396XT and I use FreeScan to program the radio with, however it seem that when i'm scanning there system I am not getting everything. I am totaly confused about the frequencies because a friend of mine gave me a set of frequencies and RadioReference has a totaly differant set of frequencies listed in the data base. I do know about the rebanding, but still there is something that's not just right.

Also would it be better to just put the control channels in and just scan CC only or is it better to use all the frequencies and scan all of them.

Really would like some help on fixing my problem.

Thanks,
HamRadioNut

Use just the CC's from RR database. They are the most current.

Thanks N8IAA,
Some of the CC's on RR are wrong, well maybe one I think, however I found the correct ones and tracking is much better now......

Thanks Again,

Rockdale County - 800 TRS

I drove through Rockdale Dec 28th. The last couple of times the only traffic I hear is Fire. No law enforcement traffic.

I'll have to go into my ARC996 software and try setting it up as rebanded.

Looking for Some Guidance in Rockdale County.

I live in Rockdale County. I am in the vicinity of Union Church and 138.
I would like to start monitoring Rockdale Sheriff and Fire and if I can receive Conyers PD, would be great.
My questions are, what scanner can I get for this and the best antenna to use.
I also would like to provide the feed if it is still needed for RR.
I would appreciate any help anyone could give to me.

Hi,
Can you tell me which one is wrong from RR.
I am trying to find a scanner to listen to Rockdale County.

You can use any of the newer scanners that allow rebanded 800MHz frequencies: Pro-163/164, GRE PSR-300/400, or the new PSR-310. The Uniden 346XT, BCT-15X will do it also. Or, if you want to listen to any digital, P-25 systems, any new GRE/Uniden scanner will work also.
HTH,
Larry
