S.I.M. PT1 ???

PT 1 is now showing up on the bottom line in the display on my BCD 436HP, but it's not on every transmission..
I looked it up...it says it is using TIME SLOT 1 ??
What does that mean?

Hi kirk23, so what you are seeing is a P25 Phase II transmission. Phase I shows as P25 on your scanner and Phase II shows as PT0 or PT1.

Phase II is TDMA with smaller bandwidth . You can have two slots per frequency in P25 II. Your 436 can handle this as long as not encrypted.

Montreal firefighters are already using encrypted radio groups. You can see these groups on Radioreference database.
