Just wondering... Why do I see RR database updates to SaiaNet for Oneida County when there are no SaiaNet systems here? The nearest system is in Onondaga County. Are there plans for SaiaNet additions to Oneida County and the surrounding counties?

Just so that there's no misunderstanding, this is our official policy:

Trunked systems shall be assigned to the union of all counties for which they are actually intended to provide coverage in addition to any other counties containing transmitter sites.

That effectively means that sometimes you have trunked systems assigned to counties even when there is no physical transmitter within that county. It can also mean that sometimes a system is assigned to a county that it's not really intended to cover, e.g. a city's public safety system that happens to have a transmitter a few miles away in a different county.

Thanks GTR8000 and Trbogeek for the links. Also - I appreciate the insight regarding the policy.

Andy, what TG are you trying to identify? Have you compared your list with the database? I went to the link you provided, and found nothing listed.

fixed the link. A fair amount of unidentified TG's after I compared the list with the database, the majority of them had activity today

I see one TG listed in the Wiki (503601) and it's listed in the DB. I'm sure I'm missing something.

Try clearing your browser's cache, the version of the wiki page before Andy made some edits tonight contains only the 503601 entry.

If you have spicific TG that are not listed, try seeing what TG ID are similar, and that should help ID them. Any that still are hanging out there, post, and we'll whittle away at them.

This system is pretty impressive, with all the TG's popping up all throughout this half of the state. Glad to see how discussed this system is. Its letting me learn so much about DMR and TRS's in my own backyard. In other news, it looks like the 900 mhz system and LTR Passport system are almost done. With AMR off of Passport, all I've been getting is random unlisted TG joins and the morse id. On the 900 system, similar thing, just a few joins from undetermined TG's, but no true traffic like the very active SaiaNet Con+

Im interested to see what next big thing jumps on. Im surprised all the NFTA hasn't jumped on yet. Fire is there and some Airport ops. In regards to NFTA PD, they could have interop with Buffalo PD due to that simulcast. Just seems like a natural progression for them and all the buses too.

The system would be a natural for the NFTA. Wide area, fault tolerance, GPS, emergency, etc. BDAs in the light rail tunnels, could be retrofitted for UHF. If i'm a betting man, the NFTA radio shop would have no interest ........

Thats disappointing. Im really coming around to the idea of TRBO and this Con+ system! I wonder how much more could be put on this system before it hits its capacity.

SaiaNet is nowhere near full capacity. It's actually a relatively small system in comparison to some of the larger Con+ systems out there (OneVoice, TeamConnect (aka pdvWireless), etc.)

Con+ systems can have up to 250 sites with up to 15 repeaters per site (although there is a limit of 420 repeaters/770 traffic slots systemwide), and 3,000 users per site. At last look, SaiaNet is up to roughly 90 repeaters at 20 sites.
