I've had this running all day, entered by hand into my 2053 (talkgroups too).

It seems its not picking up what I expected. I've seen two or three groups dominate transmissions, a few peek in, and the rest not at all.

I hear Pennsville Police Tactical constantly. Every minute or so I hear PV cops. PD Dispatch is quite active, too. Not nearly as much: County Sheriff. I havent seen other towns at all. No Salem PD, FD, or EMS at all. Nor Woodstown (where I am).

The rest I've heard were pretty spotty.

Do not forget the conventional frequencies (vhf) for the towmships. Fireboard is usually quiet. I have not heard one dispatch today.

Yep. The system is always quiet. Nothing really happens. I would say Public Safety in Salem Co. does a good job!

Hello,
Salem county is a pretty quite place.
Very slow system compared to surrounding counties. have a listen again when the snow hits the ground.

Well, I understand the system is quiet, but why is Pennsville quite busy compared to neighboring towns? Do the others stick to a different system?

Seems like someone wasted a buttload of money on this system...doesn't seem needed.

Well...
Not to pick on Salem Co but,
Salem City and PV traditionally have the highest crime rates in the county. PV is centrally located to highways and generally a lower income area.

Check the old VHF freq's for local activity. Some habits die hard.
