Mon, Aug 2nd, 2010 2:05 am In the early morning hours of Monday, Station 4-2 was dispatched along with units from White Horse (4-9), Christiana (5-2), Kinzer (4-5), and Paradise (4-7) for a mobile home fire on Hilltop Lane in Salisbury Township. Chief 4-2 (Wenger) arrived on location with a working fire and assumed command. Engine 4-2-2 arrived shortly after, the engine crew forced the front door and began to attack the fire that had originated in the kitchen. Engine 4-9-1's crew pulled an additional handline to assist with extinguishment of the fire that was on the exterior. The crew of Truck 4-2 split, with 2 members performing the primary search of the residence, and 2 members assisting the attack team with hooking ceilings and extinquishment. Both the primary and secondary searches were negative, which was a relief due to the time of night, having a vehicle in the driveway, and having to force the door. The fire was quickly knocked down, and put under control a short time later. Crews from all companies dispatched assisted with salvage and overhaul. The PA State Police Fire Marshall was also called to investigate the cause of the fire. Station 4-2 returned to quarters shortly before 5 AM. Thanks to all who assisted.
