So what is the advantage to using a Sample Bit of 32 over using 16 or even 8. I have unitrunker decoding at a Sample Rate of 9600 and Sample Bit of 16. My Quality flucuates from 81% to 87%. When I change it to Sample Rate of 4800 and Sample bit of 8. The Quality goes to 100% and occasionally drops to 99%.
Is there a advantage to using a higher sample rate and sample bit? Even at the expense of signal quality?

Normally ... more samples per second is better and more bits per sample is better. However, sound cards and chipsets vary greatly. Some employ additional filtering - depending upon sample rate - which may help or hinder decoding.

Usually ... 96,000 samples per second at 16 bits per sample is "best" but - as you've found - not always so.
