This channel has been down for about a week now. Anyone know who hosts it or how we can find out what happened to it? I sure do miss it, especially since there was a shooting a half hour ago.

Are you saying the whole System 10 is down? That would mean that San Berdoo is without a radio system.
I would check system 6/7. Other than that, I would double check your system settings.
Maybe the bankruptcy's got them using carrier pigeons or smoke signals ;)

They seem to be referring to the live audio feed hosted here on RR. Probably this one.

To the OP, try clicking Contact Broadcaster on the above linked page. They may be able/willing to provide an explanation.

LOL Mark, that was a cute response. ;)

Let me clarify...I'm using Scanner Radio app on my phone. Whoever is hosting the feeds for Radio Reference must have their computer turned off? Both System 10 and 6 are "offline" so I can only assume either the host's computer is down or they've decided to stop hosting, which would make me really sad LOL. I was so excited to finally see that channel live on Scanner Radio. So, until then...I guess I'l wait for the pigeon to come round with the good stuff. ;)

Looks like System 7 is fire only according to the description. Bummer!

The pigeons I see in San Bernardino aren't bringing anything good, believe me.

What description? System 7 is actually System 6, and is just so named as a convenient means of separating east valley and west valley talk groups in the mobile units. It has both fire and law tg's in it.

In the Scanner Radio App for Android, there is a description field for what the scanner is broadcasting. Under San Bernardino County System 6, 7 and 9, the scanner description read "San Bernardino County System 6, 7 and 9. City of Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff and Fire dispatch from San Bernardino System 6 and 7 and Fire from System 9." Then, under Details provided by provider of audio: "This feed is for City of Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff and Fire dispatch from San Bernardino System 6 and 7 and Fire from System 9."

Ok, just for clarification, though:

System 7 is system 6. There's no difference. The name "System 7" is used to designate talk-groups in the east side of the valley.

System 9 is the West End system, used by the cities of Ontario, Upland, Montclair, and Chino.

System 10 is the San Bernardino city system.

Since Rancho Cucamonga contracts to the county for law enforcement services, that traffic is on System 6.

Some fire services dispatched by Ontario Fire are on what's referred to as System 17, as well as the West End system 9. System 17 is actually System 6 - the same System 6 that's also known as System 7.

Fontana and Colton PD dispatch on System 8, also known as the "Mountain System".

All of the "unusual" system usage (like Colton on System 8) evolved out of specific coverage solutions for that particular agency.

Confused yet? =)

Why yes, I am now officially confused. :p

Thanks for the explanation though, I really do appreciate it. I heard back from the System 10 host and looks like the feed got taken down for good. I wonder if the PD had anything to do with that? It sure is sad...I really enjoyed listening to it every night.

If you're in the area, you may consider just getting a scanner and listening to it direct off the air.

I have an older scanner and when I moved back to the area, I turned it on and was unable to get the feeds. I'm not sure why. Really sucks. I love the Scanner Radio app and could listen to it anywhere. Boo for backwards technology! lol

What model scanner, and how old? All of San Bernardino county has been on 800 MHz trunked since the early 1990's. There are plenty of scanners that are useful for the current systems.

Radio Shack Pro-2035. The antenna got busted in the move so not sure how well it will work. I never could seem to pick up any local PD channels with it though. Let's see, I'd say I got it in 1994'ish?

It covers 800 MHz, but I don't think it will work on a trunked system. You'd need a scanner that's capable of following Motorola type II trunking.
