While browsing the internet, updating my San Mateo County EMS notes, I came across EMS Policy 402, effective April 2025. Its stated purpose is to establish guidelines for EMS Radio Communications. Just Google: "San Mateo County EMS Policy 402" to read the full document. It has some useful EMS radio call sign listings.
Section Section VII. Hospital Microwave Phone System - described as, "The microwave phone system uses microwave radio transmissions to link the users and is not connected to the hospital's internal phone system. This is a direct dial system between two microwave phones."
A check of the FCC revealed:
SAN MATEO PRE-HOSPITAL EMERGENCY SERVICES (JPA) - WQNV472 - Microwave 4940 to 4990 MHz
This is an unusual communications system that I would be interested in learning more about, so please post any information you might have.
Thanks,
Chris7AA
