That would be 9 sites. There are only 6 sites on the license.

[EDIT]After Warthog reported additional frequencies and chrismol1 mentioned several additional sites, I took another swim through the FCC ULS. Saratoga County has a second license for 800 MHz trunking. Some frequencies and locations overlap between the two callsigns.

I will reconstruct the data to account for both licenses, try out some of the "new" frequencies, and report back here with corrections and additions to the previous update.

How did you determine that this was the only site online and the others were not heard? Earlier you posted you had full decode in Providence which would seem to indicate the Barkersville site may be online.
If it's a simulcast system, multiple sites will show the same site id.

I plotted the sites myself on Google Earth so I have site map that I know is as reliable as the FCC database. (grin)

I know that only one site is active in the northern end of the county because here in the southern end, where at least 3 sites should be much stronger, there is only the weak signal from that one site. As mentioned in a previous posting, I drove from my end of the county up into Providence and my observations along the way confirmed that I was getting closer to the one and only site that was transmitting.

I do have to admit, since delving into the license data again, that my original identification of the in-service site as Spruce might have been in error. Barkersville seems more likely. System site numbers do not always match the assigned site numbers on a license application.

I heard no simulcast distortion, either. There is only one signal.

They swear they're going live with EMS and fire by the end of the month.
In my opinion all this stuff they are going to IS NOWHERE NEAR RELIABLE AS THE ANALOGUE STUFF THEY WERE USING!!

I think these communications should stay using THE BEST MODE THERE EVER WAS: Analogue!

Nothing will be 'perfect' considering the terrain, but if they just had to have that new digital system, a vhf trunked system would have been a better choice, or heck....even UHF. Motorola sure has a good sales staff to push that 800 MHz. I still think Motorola equipment is the best out there, but 800 MHz in this area is a bad idea. Easy to figure, though. Better coverage = more towers....more towers = more $$$$. Go Sales !!
The new system does sound good.....I must admit.

Sorry for my opinion pushing. Now it's time to get flamed by the scanner wizards.

back under my rock.

What does a PM400 have to do with the post? Last time I check, The PM400 is only available in VHF and UHF and does LTR and not P25. The radio cost that much with out the install.

The county today is starting to simulcast 155.925 (Fire/EMS Dispatch) and the 800 system. They've been testing the paging with different departments all morning. Unfortunately, everything is coming in very distorted/garbled sounding on 155.925. Sometimes the tones aren't even going out.
