Sasktel's 10-4 service was launched today (March 1st) and so far only 1 phone for the service has been released. The Sanyo 2300 is the 10-4 launch phone and so far it doesn't look very impressive. It feels kinda flimsy and lacks some features. I was told by a Sasktel employee that Samsung has a PTT phone coming out by the end of March. I'm definatly purchasing the service...I'm just going to wait until a better phone comes along.

Anyone else purchased or plan on purchasing the service?

I'm gonna need some people to put on my list...hahaha

Not a subscriber myself, but Telus Mobility PCS (different than Telus Mike of which I do subscribe) and Bell Mobility both offer this service in Ontario.

Maybe posting in the Eastern Canada forum could get you some info.

We have both the Telus Mike and Push to talk here in Manitoba. The thing that may annoy people that think this Push To Talk feature thing will be for them, is the delay when you push the PTT button. It does not connect instantly like the Mike system. There is about a 5 to 10 second delay.

My post above is assuming that the 10-4 system is going to be the same as Telus push to talk.

I finally seen someone attempt to use one of those 10-4 radios in Edmonton today. It looks just like the Telus Mike phone.

I did notice the quality was terrible and it took upto 5 seconds before the person was able to get a connection. Otherwise just like Telus MIKE.
