A Yooper in the South!

I am not really in South Carolina and my home is in Michigan's upper peninsula, hence a Yooper!

My connection is that I have a friend in Elgin and his call is KB8RJW. I have been there several times so I believe that if you breath the air of South Carolina.... you are a part of South Carolina!

QTH is Ishpeming, Michigan.... Marquette County

Welcome to RR.com! :)
The 396XT is a great handheld. And add your Sony 2010 and you have a great foundation upon which to cover most of the anything you will ever want to monitor!
Hope you quickly consider this a second home.
Happy Monitoring

Welcome Ed! Good to have you with us!
Many years ago my folks used to have a condo down in Garden City.
As a child I remember always thinking that the "spaceship house" in that
area was so cool.
This one:

Anyway, good to have you here and we hope you quickly consider an online "home".

Welcome Ed, just a bit farther south from you. Let me know if there's anything good going on up there or if there's anything I can help from this end.

Howdy

My name is Rob, and I'm in Jasper County, SC. I am a Firefighter/EMT and I've been on the job for 13 years. I currently don't have a shack built, but I'm about to start working on it. I pick up skip out of St. Johns Co. Florida on my pager (Motorola Minitor IV) and sometimes somewhere down around Reedesville GA will come in. Other than that, I listen to all the county action on my issued XTS 2500. We are on the PAL800 system, and we just got done rebanding (which was a pain in the posterior.) I'm just getting into this stuff, and figured this would be the place to come for help, advice, etc. I plan on purchasing a scanner, I'm just not sure where to start or which one I want. I feel like a babe in the woods with the technical terms and stuff. Look forward to this.

Thanks Caesar, I saw that and already have it printed out over here. I have verified about half of the 10 codes as accurate and the others are either rarely used or have been used and are simply wrong. I am working on the signals also. Difficult to find the time needed to do this.
Also CPD has "codes" along with "signals"....

Example:
10-88 squad in vicinity

I found this to be
on patrol or patrolling the area

Thanks
Pete
