My Maycom AR-108 scanner annoys the h#ll out of me by resuming scanning in the middle of someone transmitting. I thought all scanners would stay locked on a frequency channel while receiving a signal, and that the resume setting held on the channel a bit longer (whatever the resume setting was) waiting for the other party to transmit. Is my understanding correct?

More importantly, is this how the R6 Resume Setting works? It seems that sometimes the R6 resumes scanning right in the middle of a transmission.

To set the Icom pause / resume options, see page 37. You'll have to turn the EXPANDed menu setting on to access these.

The "Scan Pause" setting determines how the R6 will act while it is listening to an active signal. The "Scan Resume" settings determine how the R6 will act once a signal goes away.

I think what you want, especially if the transmissions are very long, is to set the Scan-Pause timer to "hold", and then set the Scan-Resume to something like 2 seconds to await a reply.
