Hello. I programmed list 1 with conventional system, then I went to program scanlist 2 with a trunked system, and when I chose to scanlist 1, radio scans BOTH list 1 and 2! When I press "manual" when hearing a trunked comm on scanlist 1, it lists it as scanlist 1, not 2!!!! Also, when I attempt to program another TSYS onto, for example, scanlist 4, I find all the control channel frequencies on the screen from the TSYS on scanlist 2! (I would assume that since scanlist 4 was never used, how come these othercontrol channel frequencies from scanlist 2 pop up? I returned my initial unit to Grove because it couldn't load Vfolder 6; I wonder if this is bad radio too? or am I missing something? When I am programming a scanlist, I scroll to the desired list, then press select, and the icon shows up in front of the scanlist, telling me that I can program it, and so on.... I believe this is right.... I am not a freshman in scanner radios, but I cannot logically figure out what is happening here. Any help would be GREATLY and FOREVER appreciated!! thanks again.

Sounds like your TSYS object is saving talkgroups to the default scan list #1. You can change that in the global settings. Press PGM, F3 GLOBAL, arrow down 17 times to go to the Default Scanlist: 1, press select, change it to 2, press F1 DONE, press F1 SAVE, now press scan and when you press "E" to save a TGRP it will be saved to scanlist #2.

You can do this easier using PSREdit or Win500.

Yeah like what a person said before it's probably because you are mapping those objects to two different scan lists. Before you press E to store the TGs go up to scanlist and make sure that only one scanlist has a * by it.

thanks VERY much for the advice... I'll give it a shot this evening after work. Looks like one of you is from Houston? I went to school in Galveston(UTMB) for several years back in the early 80's, and have fond memories of that part of the state, except for the humidity and heat of the summer. Appreciate your advice; maybe, after all, I don't have a second faulty unit!!! have a good weekend!

Hey guys, tried this, and it still isn't working right! Let me clarify, even when I place the default to say, scan list 5, I am able to program a TSYS into list 1 fine(this is a wildcard status one, as I am trying to find talkgroups to store...... this works fine. I then attempt to enter another TYSY into scanlist 2: I press PGM, F!(new), then F!(TGRP), and the screen should show, as it did when I entered the initial TSYS, the first line to choose what scanlist to enter the new system in, and the next line should read TSYS: NEW; mine reads the labeled TSYS I first entered, along with all the other parameters, like frequencies, etc. This shouldn't be!!!! Now, a couple of times, I have turned radio off, then on again, and doing procedure as above, it HAS worked OK, but I have not been able to enter more than 2 scan lists with different TSYS, as every other time I follow manual directions, I again wind up as above.. with a supposed new TGRP choice I entered, the screen shows the prior TSYS on the second line, along with all the parameters. NOw I know there should be no need to delete all the info from that screen, as if I do, that initial system is now gone, as has happened several times to me. Help is appreciated, if any other ideas. I do think I have another avocado or spoiled apple that I need to return. thanks in advance!

Ok, when you enter a new TG, scroll to the system line, press the right or left button until you see "New", click the SEL button and you have entered a new system.

Hi Scanfan; actually, I found that out last night, yes, when I enter F1(new), and F!(TGRP) again for system, I realized that I have to do exactly that, to put cursor to present system, then use change to "New" for TYSYS, and then I am in business. Geezzzzzzz, maybe I was looking at the manual literally, expecting the display to show TYSY : NEW automaticallly! I tried it for a couple of TSYS's, and seems to work now. I think, maybe, I'll return to Galveston! thanks for your help again.
