Scanner Display

A while back I saw something about what to do if my scanner display becomes so faded that I can't read it anymore. When I went back to read (when I had more time) I don't see it - can anyone direct me to this article again. Or can someone help me with a "fix"? The display on my scanner is so faded, I can't read it.

What model#/Brand,ect.

If it is a Realistic Pro 2021/2022/2004/5/6,the backlight is probably getting dim?

The fix is pretty easy,as I just replaced one on my Pro 2004.There is a person selling the backlights no longer available from Tandy Parts,on ebay.

If it is a uniden,you may need to send it in,they used to charge a flat rate of $50.00,and a 90 day warranty.-Don't know if this is still current.

And if its the plastic screen having a problem then Flitz it.
Or any other fine rubbing compound to buff out the scratches.
have this problem on my cell phones. Then when your done grab some screen protectors.
